MercyFound Ministries is an adoption ministry that has just been launched. It was founded by my beautiful friend, Melissa. She has a heart of gold and I am so excited to see what God does through MercyFound. You will have to check out the daily posts on their blog written by adoptive or soon to be adoptive moms. I am so happy to be able to be a small part of the ministry by writing a monthly post for their blog.
Melissa also asked if they could take over the weekly link up that I used to host called: My Week in Review. It is a fun way to wrap up your week by looking back at the high, the low, and the lesson learned. I will be linking up over there today.

{High}
On Wednesday, it was a beautiful sunny day here. My oldest two only had a half day of school and we spent the entire afternoon playing at our neighborhood park. I loved watching my kiddos interact and play together. It was a happy, happy day and all was well with the world. (That is parent talk for there was no arguing and everyone got along so well :)
{Low}
We received the Parents of the Year award on Sunday. My husband and I were in the rush of getting ready for church. (Picture it with me: rushed-chaos) During that time one of our little kiddos tried to peel one of those Cutie Oranges with a paring knife and cut their finger. There was a trail of blood drops, tears and a momma who might have freaked a bit. After wiping away the blood, it ended up not being too bad of a cut and we had to have the 'only Mommy and Daddy are allowed to use knives' talk.
{Lesson Learned}
When we were walking to the park on Wednesday. All of the kiddos brought scooters, except for Taylor and I. On the long :) journey to the park, Elijah decided that he could go no longer. He ditched the scooter and asked Big Sis if he could ride on her back. She happily carried him the rest of the way to the park. The symbolism was not lost on me. Sometimes in life you just need to drop it all and ask to be carried for part of your journey.
Come join the fun!

I LOVE your lesson learned. What a sweet reminder that we don't always need to have it all together, that we need others on this journey in life, and the joy of our Savior when we surrender our complete selves to Him and allow HIM to carry us! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melissa!
DeleteMan, I've missed you. Love the lesson learned, jealous of your sunny day, and glad everyone still has all their digits in your house.:) Cutie oranges are our favorites!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! You know you can always move here and enjoy these sunny days with us :)
DeleteAmt...When my girls were little, we often went for walks to the park, and the youngest would always want to ride her little tricycle....Well more often than not, she would get tired and want mommy to carry her home...and of course that meant I was also dragging a tricycle with the other hand! (:>)
ReplyDeleteBut I too am so thankful that in our weariness, our Lord carries us when we stretch out our arms towards Him and admit our weakness!
Glad the knife injury was not too bad...those times can be alarming.
Love, Linda
Yes, Ma'am! We have those experiences just about every time I let them ride their bikes. Memories :)
DeleteOops! I see now that I hit the "t" instead of the "y" when I typed Amy! Ha! Sorry 'bout that. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Hate the bloody finger, but I can totally relate! Love the sunny days and lesson learned :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, friend!
Deletethat last picture -- so precious. Mareto cut his finger with a knife this week too! he was stabbing a tangerine while I was in the back changing Arsema. Scared me to death! Thankfully it wasn't bad at all - lots of blood but no tears and not deep. whew. All the knives are in the TOP shelf of the TOP cabinet now! haha
ReplyDeleteI hear you! It is so scary to think about what could have happened.
DeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are back! I was so worried about you! You've certainly been an inspiration to me to share my faith through a public blog, and I know you will do the same for many others! ~Kim
Thank you, Kim! I look forward to catching back up with you on your blog.
